A Song With No Name

I wrote this song a little while ago.  I'll get through playing it without messing it up very soon!  As the title suggests it is without a name, but it's got this country thing going on....I'm not a country fan at all.  There's too much Jesus in it.  That's why I wrote this really.

Verse 1:
You know that I don't really care
Why do you think I need your teaching?
There's an equal chance that I'm right or wrong,
and you don't practice what you're preaching.
There's a whole wide dark deep expanse of knowledge and you can't be
afraid of it, because he said that the blind, they shall see.

And I know that we can get along.

Chorus:
Yeah, nobody knows but everyone cares
if Santa Clause has a gun and lives upstairs.
Now I'll give you my opinion - you don't have to believe it's true -
That "Higher Power" that you love is inside you.

Verse 2:
God is as much as he ain't
and if you look around you'll see it.
The Atheists don't shake their fists, they shake their heads.
Why can't you BE it?
And nobody knows for sure...at least not until they die.
But even if there's nothing there THIS life is precious, that's no lie.

And I wish that you would get a clue.
No matter what ANYONE believes, it don't change what's true.

Chorus

Bridge:
You gotta follow your heart but you've got to think about it too.
I use my choices for myself.  I don't trust a God who
demands that I give him my will (the ONLY thing that's truly mine).
Why?  Because he doesn't trust me all the time.
So, I'd rather die than hand it over blind.
Cause why should I believe that he's loving and kind?

Chorus
